Before an agreement is signed, the claimant receives information about the property, its reported value, holder, and the fact that the State Controller holds the property.

If the claimant chooses to hire PALOMIRIS, the parties use the appropriate written investigator agreement and gather the required claim documentation.

We do not represent the State of California and cannot guarantee approval or payment of any claim. The State Controller's Office makes the final determination regarding entitlement and payment.

No upfront recovery fee.
Ordinary California abandoned property
Any investigator fee is contingent on recovery and may not exceed 10% of the property actually returned, subject to applicable California law.
Different rules apply to certain County Probated Estate matters.
